Cleator Moor Town Council Building Refurbishment Project
Completed January 2014
Cleator Moor Town Council commissioned a survey on the condition of the Town Council building in 2011. The survey was carried out by Workington based surveyor Neil Hodgson, and a number of areas of concern were identified. While some of the issues were of an urgent nature, such as removal of the unstable rendering, members of the Town Council wished to take the opportunity to improve the building and its capabilities as a useful community space. Work to address the issues took place over three stages, the first to remove the rendering and allow the premises to dry, costing £5,812.80. The second to re-render and repair roofline, guttering and barge boards, relocation of the central heating boiler and work on electrics, costing £25,936.00. (More:)
